Just looking around the front of the engine bay yesterday i saw a bit of the corner of the radiator with the fins falling out so i removed the electric fan for a better look and what a mess ! So i orderded a new radiator and set about removing the radiator all straight forward untill the last two bl**dy bolts holding the rad to the air con rad but after a while it came out and bloody hell what a mess ! talk about just in time and the mess was like seeing the whole of an iceberg after just seeing the tip .I have had to replace the radiators now on every 166 and 164 i have owned. Why did i buy this thing back ?!!! I must be mad.

The new rad has arrived and the bottom hose has an elbow that has to be refitted using one of Alfas horible one use only clips but this one is made to keep the rigid plastic pipe from blowing off and i b*ggered the old one taking it off , I wonder if you can buy these separately?
Oh things i could have done with the time i have spent mucking about with this bl**dy 166 today.
So now it sits there radiatorless like some huge useless garden ornament

Can you got toa local hydraulic place and get hose / elbow / (jubilee) clamp ?
I found my local place in yellow pages, and got fittings for my fuel tank

Yeah, that name rings a bell.
The "single-use" clips are an Alfa special, but can be re-used if carefully unhooked. There is a £5 tool available, but I have used pliers on my intake air hoses.
Not certain that water pipes use the same, but I replaced another water hose with jubilee clips, just temporarily. Last year.

Right then the new radiator is installed and let it run for 1/2 an hour on drive and so far no drips or overheating
Take it for a run later ,Wheres my brave pills ? Also my hands feel like they have been given an hours tenderising with a steak mallet and they look like they have been attacked with a cheese grater.
I wonder what the next problem will be ? Also MOT time in about 6 weeks .:(
