Verbod radarverklikkers in oktober van kracht

Uitgegeven: 31 januari 2003 08:50

This ban is one of the reasons why there is little respect for the law in Holland (and elsewhere), a lot of effort and manpower goes to catching speeders and collecting extra money from them, while the big criminals do what they like, just a week ago a top criminal was machinegunned in Amstelveen, and that is one in a row of 'settlements'. I don't know how the situation is in the UK, but I fear that it is the same.
In the meantime we are game for the police, thank you very much !

The police calls this "killing the case", because they actually prevent crime from happening. So they cannot arrest the killer-to-be for a crime he was prevented to do eek!

But how can the police be sure it was 19, and how do they now they actually prevented something .... difficult ...

Ivo,

I know what you mean. I saw some documentaries of Peter R. de Vries and I really think that if the government gives all their money to this guy instead of investing it in the police-system, a lot MORE crimes would get solved and a lot of criminals would be placed behind bars

The radar detectors are not alowed in Portugal.

But, just to you have an idea how people are speeding here I'll tell you that, the VCI (motorway around the city) in Porto has now speed radar control.
The speed limit is 90km/h. Usually, that speed limit was overtook by 18.000 drivers daily!!!! When the speed radars started to work (just for experiments) than number dropped to 8.000 a day.

Last 23rd January they started to work for real and they caught 680 drivers with more them 90km/h and 30 drivers driving at more then 120km/h, just on the first day.

The radar (picture) detect the speed before you get to the radar and get a "photo". It shows the speed your traveling before you get caught.

About two years ago, we had a "nice" feature near Bunnik on the A12: if someone was speeding you could read on a big sign what speed was driven and which car it was (they displayed the licenseplate number as well)
