Hi guys,think i need a new rad fitted as the old one let a lot of water go yesterday. 156 2lt selespeed sp3. Anyone local(aint going main route!!)

Or search eBay for "Nissens" and ask the supplier for one.

It will be aluminium, unlike the copper Valeo one from Alfashop etc..

I got mine from seller "radicoolcouk"

Thanks for the help lads,the bird is now back and going like a good un!! temp dont go above 50 now but i know how to sort that one out.:p :p would have liked to go to Lloyd but it would have cooked it by then.Just goes to show how good he is,he told me last spring it needed doing.Most gods can see into the future.

Very common after fitting a new rad, that is why I usually recommend fitting a new thermostat at the same time.

Saves you loosing your coolant twice.

We had to have new rads and thermostats on both 156s and a new thermostat on the Spider.

It seems that both are a bit of a weak point on the modern Alfas.

They were

2000 156 2.0 TS both rad and thermostat at around 7 years old

2001 156 TS Selespeed both rad and thermostat at 5 years old

2001 Spider thermostat at 6 years

It doesn't sound too bad, until you compare it with 1992 75 still on the original radiator.
