Hi there, I want to install the r80 pump from Alfa 159 2.4 to my 156 2.4 jtd with edc15c7 ecu.
The pump itself fits together with oem 156 2.4 pulley.
I've read something about low and high pressure controlled pump.

On the right hand side the r80, on the left hand my 156 2.4 jtd pump.


The pump fitted to my car.

I hope you know that the MPROP regulator that is used on 159 pump is not compatible with DRV regulator used by EDC15c7...

You cannot control 159 fuel pump with EDC15c7. Not compatible.

Isn't it possible to let the pump run at full throttle like the oem did? For this I could swap the electronic valve in the back of the pump from my oem to r80.
Then I can deliver more fuel.

You can't fit your old regulator valve to new pump, because they are not compatible, this new pump works in a completely different way.

Old pump works at full throttle and then DRV valve diverts excess fuel, from the high pressure side of the pump, back to the fuel tank.

New pumps adjusts by MPROP valve, at low pressure side, how much fuel enters the pump, and by that it regulates pressure and fuel flow.

It is a completely different concept.

Hi TribesMan, thank you for your explannation. Via google I found the other threat on this forum, and according to this, I bought a BMW e39 530d 135KW pump. It was sold for just 110€. So I think, that is ok
Ok, let's se I will give you a Pdf document to understand because i see that you are not understanding. I could not attach a PDf because it's to big and that's why I made some few print screen. I found Fuel Pump for my uppgrade and now I'm searching for bigger injectors.
We have 2 types of pumps that are working properly on our model:

CR/CP1S3/R70/10-1S

BMW Serie 3 330 d, xd 135 KW 10.99-03.03
BMW Serie 3 Touring 330 d, xd 135 KW 10.99-03.03
BMW Serie 5 525 d 120 KW 04.00-07.03
BMW Serie 5 530 d 135-142 KW 08.98-07.03
BMW Serie 5 Touring 525 d 120 KW 04.00-05.04
BMW Serie 5 Touring 530 d 135-142 KW 08.98-05.04
BMW Serie 7 730 d 135-142 KW 08.98-12.01
BMW Serie X X 5 3.0 d 135 KW 03.01-09.03
Land Rover Group Range Rover III 3.0 Td6 130 KW 03.02-09.06
Opel Omega 2.5 DTI Turbo 110 KW 06.01-09.03

The other one is from Iveco: CR/CP1S3/R75/10-1S iveco daily 40C15, you can find it only on Iveco.

Just a quick note, I got the BMW R70 pump and refurbished it. I had to change the front plate of the pump that it fit to my Alfa. I used the front plate of the Alfa pump and fixed it on the BMW R70 pump. That seemed to be the trick.
I haven't started the car yet, cause it is not finished.
I'm installing a BMW GT2260V turbo, yes I know it's not the vzk one, and I had to refurbish the cylinder head because of a broken glow plug. The end stuck in the head, so I removed it.

Furthermore I will install a 4 bar map sensor and an 1800 bar fuel pressure sensor.
I will do the software modification on my own like I did with my other 2 Alfa.
If the car runs again, and after a few test kilometers and a basic set up, I will continue with an fmic

If you need a bigger pump, take fuel pump from 156 2.4 20V (176HP).
That one is completely compatible with your ECU.

I have an Alfa 147 FL, 1.9 16v, 150 hp from 2005 (the euro3 engine with no DPF, no swirl flaps) and I intend to install a gtb2056v turbo.
I already have in place a large fmic and water-meth kit so, with proper software I expect to exceed 230 hp.
As far as I know the stock high pressure fuel pump will not cope with the power so I found a 159 2.4 210 R80 pump for cheap.
Will it fit in my euro 3 engine, or I have to source out a 156 2.4 20v pump?

No, you have a R55 pump with DRV and not with MPROP.

You can put a R65 camshaft in the R55 pump.
How can I check what type of pump I have?
As far as I know the R55 pumps were mounted on 8v engines.
Mine is a 16v, 110kw engine from 2005 (Alfa 147 Facelift) just that is euro3 not euro 4.

This or a R65 camshaft in the R55 pump. Or a BMW pump...

But be careful with the R65 pumps. They are often in bad conditions and very rusty inside.

I guess the 156 2.4 20v is the best way to go then.
The funny thing is that I found the 159 pump for 30 euros and the 156 pump for 100 euros; but what can I do :D

Anyway, thanks for the info, it will really help me out.
