He may have been the worlds worst mechanic, but his DIY skills were beyond anyones imagination.I mean who else would fasten everything with screws only he'd bang them in like nails!

Happy times.I just wanted to thank you all for all the wishes you've sent.It has meant a lot especially to my girl as well. She says he was like the brother she never had.I could say the same too.

Oh well, back to work and normality tomorrow.Well,I'll try to be as normal as I can be.

He had some good friends here.I just wish more of you had met him in real life.

Thanks guys,

Barry.

As far as I could tell, Mark worked for the NHS? Please tell me he wasn't an orthopaedic surgeon!

And some of us were intrigued that he seemed to be on the verge of a new relationship with a young lady, although sadly, it seemed to have fizzled out.

Once again Barry, thanks for your words on here - yes, Quinn did make quite an impression and I, as well as many others, will miss his obtuse musings, acid wit and occasionally, his sheer opacity.

And I wouldn't mind betting that for those whose cup of online tea he wasn't, in 'real life' they would have liked him much more.

Sad... very sad. :( He added to the Yin and Yang of this place that is sometimes lacking.

There's a train leaving nightly called when all is said and done.

.

Keep me in your heart
OK I've got to add this. My GF Dianne :inlove: and I listened/listen to this Quinn song when we go away and at first she pretended to go ......Ahhhhhhh.... NOT THIS AGAIN.

I ended up waking her in the morning with this repeatedly and we both realistically loved it. Sssssssh... I downloaded it. We argued about his pronunciation of 'London'. Actually everything works on this. (In both our opinions). Great chord progressions.

I think I mentioned it before in a post and I hope Quinn realised that... Give me roses while I live.

I've got things on my mind

I think that may have been the first Quinn song I heard.
London pronunciation is as I would say it. Not that I speak the Queen's English.

He may have been the worlds worst mechanic, pretty useless at computers (I was pretty much his on-call personal IT consultant) but his DIY skills were beyond anyones imagination.I mean who else would fasten everything with screws only he'd bang them in like nails! He had so many quirks.I don't know if he ever told you guys but the one year he put some decorations up for xmas.Only problem is he quite liked the look of them so he left the string of fairy lights round his fireplace and stuck all the other assorted ornaments in various locations round the house. That was about 5 years ago and they were still up the last time I we went round a few weeks ago.He used to buy the strangest junk off the net.The blower motor went in the car and his screen was frosty on the inside. His solution? to buy what he thought was a rechargeable hairdryer of all things. It was just a normal one so he still ended up running an extension lead up the path.Oh,and then there's the life size cardboard cutout Bengal tiger he bought off Amazon to scare off a couple of pigeons he named Ron and Ron.That didn't work either but we did have some hillarious laughs with that thing and a camera.I have a hundred thousand great memories of him and the fun we got up to.

that's put a smile on my face, would love to hear more about him :)

it's a bit sad how we only find out more about the enigmatic old bugger now that he's gone :(

Quinn was someone on here I thought I might like to meet one day. Too late for this life:(
Seconded.
Thirded. Yes me too. I must admit I was thinking on the way home in the car how good it would be if Quinn was just having a laugh and he was still here.
I never met him in person but wish I had.

Just noticed this sad news from another thread.

What a sad loss. Whilst my post count doesn't reflect it, I have been reading these boards since 2008 and always remember Quinn for his unique commentary.

Unusual character - always entertaining and a genuine individual.

RIP Quinn.

Just spotted this. Very sad especially as I've got his old car. RIP and I will keep it on the road. We did have a few conversations about it and he seemed a good fella......

Still miss the fella :(

Now (about 7am on a weekend morning) is when I would catch up on his activities / threads from the night before and I would either end up smiling, or shaking my head....
