Hi Everyone.

With great sadness I have had to register with this site to impart some news.My very best mate Mark who I'm sure you knew as Quinn died over the weekend.I was the one who I had many, many drinks with and recorded an awful lot of music with since I first ran into him in the autumn of 1988 on the top deck of a bus.

He was the very best friend a man could ever wish to have, despite being a tad awkward at times but it was a fun ride while it lasted. He was the brother I never had.

Goodbye Mark.Hope you find an off-licence open at this time.Hopefully they have a few special offers on and,oh,dont forget your pack of Embassy No1 because I know you always run out.If there is an afterlife please try not to get in too many scraps or let anyone diss the BM!

Thanks for everything mate.We had a lot of daft times and laughs. You will be missed.a LOT.

Barry.

Thankyou everyone.

Hello.

Sorry,I'm afraid this really isn't Mark or any kind of joke.I have never spoken to his younger sister on the phone in all the years I have known him.She sent me a message around 11.50 this morning asking me to call her.We don't know what was the cause yet other than he had been signed off work the last week because he wasn't feeling very well.I really was not expecting this today at all.We won't know any details yet until the PM but his Sister's going to keep me posted. It has been a very peculiar day to say the least. If anyone would like to contact me concerning this my email is [email protected]

I do know he had a lot of friends here and I thought it was the right thing to let everyone know because I do know he used to post a lot here.

Thanks guys.

Barry.

Quinns last post was about giving up smoking, and intimated he may have a health issue around it.

I lost my aunt to COPD and heart disease at Christmas directly related to smoking, it's not a nice way to go, but she kept it a secret for years so we never got the chance to help her. I hope this wasn't the case for Quinn, and he was at peace when he went.

Thanks for letting us know Barry and sorry for your loss. Please pass on condolences to Mark's sister.
Many of us on here will be deeply saddened by this terrible news.
Quinn was, in my opinion, one of the most interesting contributors to this forum, and I'm sure he was quite a character 'in real life'. I will miss his posts on here and feel terribly sorry at a life ended far too early and deepest sympathy for all family and friends left behind.

RIP Quinn:(

Hello.

All I know at the moment is that he was signed off work a week ago with some kind of throat problem and he apparently hadn't taken his prescription medicines. He always had a nap after a few drinks and he must have just gone in his sleep. He never really had any serious health problems other than chronic IBS.Unfortunately, that's all I know at this point in time but if anyone would like to get in touch then please feel free to email me on the address I gave earlier. His late father Len died at the age of 51 from a heart attack and he always worried he was only a few years away from that.He would have been 48 this August. No age at all.

Thanks,

Barry.

Thanks for your kind words everyone. He was indeed a true character.I'm missing him so much.I kinda feel things wont ever be the same ever again now.He was going to be my best man at my wedding and we had plans to come out of 'retirement' for one last gig on the day.Well,I guess that's not going to happen now.

Barry.
