by all accounts fiat\alfa\lancia got the various shapes of car they likes & bolted the 'grale transmission & engine to the bottom.

You _could_ weld the dedra integrale transmission tunnel, boot floor & back end pickups etc onto a 155 shell, but it would be quicker & cheaper to buy a Q4 I guess.

It would be much quicker to mount and weld the front, wings, doors and back from a 155 to a Dedra Integrale, then mounting the Dedra chassi in a 155...

Just a question, but if its power you are after why don't you go out and find an old dedra turbo and drop that lump in. An easy 200bhp + for minor effort.

Does anyone know if anyones ever done this before?

I seriously considered this conversion about a year ago and looked into it to see how difficult it would be. I raised a thread on it before? The short answer is that it appears to be quite simple, and I reckoned on using the hubs/discs/calipers from the dedra turbo as my skinny 2L would have inadequate brakes. I spoke to a specialist company up north and he said the subframe et al are fine as the alfa has the same block mountings and bellhousing as the lancia 2L TC. I even managed to get a reasonable inurance quote on the proposed project.
What I never established was if the gearbox ratios were the same, but as the cars share the same floorpan, it shouldn't have been difficult if I had a dedra turbo donor car. Reckoned the speedo might cause problems though.
Biggest headache would be the ecu and wiring. Never got into examining this in close detail, but I think it could be done. Lack of time and workspace prevented the project becoming a reality, and I realised I could probably buy a nicer, faster car cheaper than faffing about with the alfa.

Why bother with the Lancia unit? I reckon Fkcream's got the right idea with his Supercharged 1.8 idea. Now that he's got the V6 stickered beast someone might be able to part him from his charger.
