Hi,

Hope someone can help with this problem.

When i turn the ignition key to start the engine normally the yellow key in the display should go out and the engine should start. Now i am no expert but think this is the imobiliser.

This has not been happening. It can start first time or take 20/30 attempts to start. What i noticed is that the key symbol stays on and the engine does not start. Since Wednesday i have been unable to start the car.

I have changed the batteries in the key fobs (both).

Has anyone got any good ideas or advice to get me going?

Thank you.

Could be something as simple as a bad earth. There's a thick cable at tront of gearbox beneath air intake hose. Clean with wire brush to remove any rust and dirt and make a clean contact. If not that it could be immobiliser or ECU. Neither cheap fixes!!

This thread helped me with the exact same problem about 4 days ago.

Just needed to unplug and plug back in the wireless cable that starts from around the ignition key.

Worked perfectly after that.
