Hi guys, I need a new back box, ive got a 2.0 Ts 16v feb96, ive been told the mid and back box are one piece, which i think is right, and have got a quote of £207.99, thought id check with everyone that im gettin a good deal before i buy, what u think??

Also.. for about 24 hours my idle was at 3000rpm! eek! it went back to normal earlier today. Anyone experianced anything similar? Ive got the fuel injection light on my dash as i said in an earlier post, ive changed the lambda since but theres been no change. Took my car to an alfa specilist who couldnt get the diagnostic computer to connect so i have no idea what to do. :(
Help!!!!

Thanks

Rob

Sorry about the probs, However on the exhaust front, the price is good for a mild steel system.

A stainless steel system from the CAT back on my V6 would cost £295

Kwik Fit quote £260 for the small in mild. Go stainles if ya going to keep the car for a while.

This is the reply I got to an enquiry about a stainless system for my car.

Thanks for your enquiry. .

Cobra Sport exhaust systems are well respected amongst custom car
enthusiasts and recommended by Maxpower and Revs magazines.

Stainless Steel Systems;
Cobra Sport stainless steel systems are custom built from the highest
quality grade 304 stainless steel and manufactured using professional
high frequency TIG welding. Cobra Sport offers a unique lifetime
guarantee and a 30-year anti-corrosion warranty with all stainless
systems. They also offer an incredible choice of tail pipe designs
to complete the system. With Stainless exhausts you need to be sure
that the quality your buying is grade 304 stainless, which is the
only grade of stainless steel used in exhaust manufacture that will
not rust.

Cobra Sport Mild Steel systems are also custom built and come with a
12 month guarantee. Mild steel systems also come with stainless
steel tail pipes and again there is an incredible choice of designs
available.

The price for a Cobra Sport Stainless steel system for your car as
requested (cat back) would be £295. All prices are inclusive of VAT
and fitting.

Please don't hesitate to contact us should you have any further
queries.

Unfortunately, that was just the 2 box bit, tail pipe and over the ns rear suspension arm. Remaining part was about another £60 I think...

Would not try doing this job myself contary to what others have said, unless access to a ramp is available. You have to jiggle the exhaust over the suspension arm and under the handbrake cable... not easy...

I changed the centre section on my girlfriends old metro... not easy at all, even up on stands - half the battle is getting the joints apart...

ahhhh..

the 3 silencer unit is a bit easier.. a few rubber mounts and one sleeve fit. It doesn't go over the rear axle either... it goes under it :D nice and easy.
