Would be interested to get the thoughts of the wise sages on here as to whether Ive done all I can to prevent the common issues that we might come across on my wife's 2011 159 ti 2.0 JTDM SW.

So far Ive

Changed the cambelt and water pump
Replaced the entire Exhaust system in Stainless from the DPF backwards
Had the EGR mapped off
Waxoyl's the underside and front subframe
Replaced the gearbox oil with MT 90
Covered the front slam panel with 3M clear film
Replaced the front low arm rear bushes with powerflex upgrades

I know there are a number of routes I could go down to improve performance etc however its not something we want to do. I'd be interested to know if I have missed anything in relation known weak areas

Many Thanks

Physically blank the EGR (they often still leak, clean the Map sensor and boost sensor (on the slam panel). Personally I'd spray some stuff (like the EGR cleaner spray) in the manifold too to help get rid of some of the gunk).
Front mudflaps would help road rash on the rear too

Hi, done pretty much same as you but had dpf gutted and a remap. This transforms the car esp in 3rd and 4th very quick.
had a new box clutch dmf first as there was a slight whirr in 3rd.
will spin the wheels in 3rd gear easily in the dry, new tyres so plenty of torque.
best mod so far.
egr blanked and deleted.
stainless exaust no rear boxes at exit.
added a decent catch can which should send cleaner air back to intercooler.
Worth doing on a good looking car.

Also had a new inlet manifold, waterpump and belts. Run on vpower only and occasionally add millers ecomax.
Runs fairly quiet for a diesel only noise is jet roar sound from rear pipes but not loud.
Now feels like my old 2.0ltr twinny after fettling but less trips to the petrol station.

If your keeping it a long time also waxoil the bracketry on the front subframe, the rear subframe and rear suspension arms. Also protect the bottom of the front wings.
