2011 Giulietta JTDM having PS issues. Went very heavy a few weeks ago and is now fluctuating between light and heavy whilst driving which is just dangerous.

Thought I'd top up fluid as a first test and...where the ***** is the filler? Couldn't find it so, based on the fact I know my way around and engine, decided it must be electric...until I spotted the sticker telling me which fluid to put in for power steering!

Seriously where is it? Google can't even tell me!

It is electric.

I can't hep with your fault though I am afraid, I would be tempted to take it to a specialist to have a look at.

It's fully electric. By the sound of it, it has a faulty position sensor. Replacing the entire steeringbox is the way to go.

The Power Steering is by dual pinion action, see link.

They can call it what they want, it still isn't as good as a hydraulic system.

It is just cheaper to make and gives a couple of MPG extra in ideal conditions.
