Good arvo people.

Could any of you fine chaps and chap'esses? shed some light on a very annoying problem.

I have a 2003 model 156 JTS manual. Had my fair share of issues but have in the main ironed them out.

Alas this code causing the EM light to come on once a day has me stumped. I have a code reader and it gives me the PO115 (Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit malfunction)

Now I have not noticed any change in the running although the odd code is thrown as an occasional low baller PO420 (below cat threshold) I have changed the cat and the O2 sensors. Then PO352 and 353 referring to the coil packs. (changed)

BUT....this P0115 is the bug bear. I hear that a faulty coolant sensor can throw all sorts of things out?

My fan comes on from cold (air con off) and that triggers the code.

I have bought and replaced two new sensors (thinking the first one from the EU was buggered). BOTH NEW sensors weirdly enough made the needle on my temp dial read well over the 90 degree mark???? when I replace the old one it reads normal??? WTF?? :depressed:

Any ideas? The wiring all looks Okay......?

Thanks in advance guys

Hey. Late I know, but I have this code too. I'm pretty confident it's the thermostat not closing correctly, and confusing the thermister. I know my thermostat sometimes sticks open, but it seems the failure of it to close again when the temperature drops triggers the light. Eg I parked the car for thirty mins, stat stuck open, engine was stone cold when I came back, EMS light was on.

I don't get any other codes like you though, and my fan is not running when cold.

I will change my stat on the weekend to see what happens. Did you get any further with yours on the past four weeks?
