No, just the grinding.
The balancing was done by a chap in Huddersfield.

would you recommend him ?

Also - did you tap the crank oil ways to take the grub screws and does it really take a coiple of hours each ? Sorry about all the questions i'm just about to start a build.

Yes the guy in Huddersfield was great. I'll PM you his number as he seems very private and doesn't like advertising!

Tapping the crank wasn't as bad as I expected but the 1750 crank isn't nitrided like the later ones so that might have helped. It was still a steady job though! I went for an M8 size thread and got a brand new set of three taps and also a ratchet T wrench as you are working quite close to the crank so there's not much room in there. Got everything from Bradford Bolt & Nut. I think the grub screws were 12mm long.

The old alloy plugs just drill out. Start with something like a 5mm drill and you will probably find they just spin out once the drill bites. You need loads of pipe cleaners too. It's a steady job!!
