went to move the gtv from my dads garage to my bodyshop last night and the damn thing wouldnt start!

cars been sat a while (about 8 months at a guess)

fitted a new battery, car turns over but wont fire,

Key Code light goes out, injector light doesnt (it comes on with ignition, after about 8 seconds (fuel pump still priming) the injector light goes out for a split second then back on) and stays on, the car cranks

i can hear the fuel pump priming, ive taken the 3 red relays out from behind the osf head light cover off and cleaned and reinstalled (and swapped them all around) still no joy

ive checked all the fuses

i removed a spark plug and it was bone dry, so no fuel coming out of the injectors??

anybody have any ideas??

the engine was fully rebuilt by jamie porter @ thealfaworkshop about 18k miles ago, everything replaced.... base liner seals, head gaskets, timing belt, and just about everything else! (to the tune of £2500)

i dont have access to any diagnostic equipment (the cars at my workshop in lingfield (RH7 6DF) if anyone local has it and fancies helping out....

my first thought is, cam position sensor? or maybe crank pos sensor? im guessing the injectors are not getting the pulse signal to fire the injectors?

disconnect your maf and try to start it. Mine showed similar symptoms when the maf failed while I was driving it. On the side of the road, I tried cranking and starting but to no avail, injector light stayed on and flashed of briefly then came on again. By unplugging the maf the management computer goes to a default setting that will allow it to start. It should idle roughly but should start.

Before doing this, check your fuel level! (might sound stupid but do so!)

I hope this helps!

I think I have a similar problem with a GTV P2 TS. I am still try to find a solution. Any ideas?
The car was working fine and then I parked it and went away for 3 weeks. When I came back the car would start but immediately the engine would stall. There are no lights on the dashboard. The diagnostics also report no faults.
I have disconnected the MAF and the car starts and works.
I ordered a brand new MAF (original), installed, and after a reset of the ECU (disconnect teh battery for a couple of hours) still the same problem. The car would start but the engine immediately woudl die
Any ideas?
I suspect either a Lambda sensor or maybe a problem with the MAF connector.
