Ph1 916 2.0 Twin Spark Gear Linkage Question

Hi All,

I need to replace my gearbox and am currently stuck taking off one of the gear linkages. These are the rod type ones on the Ph1. I've got the others off but the one in the picture I can't work out! It had a weight on the threaded bar below the arm to the gearbox that I have taken off and I expected to then be able to separate the bar from the arm next but so far no good. Has anyone taken this off before?

I have replaced that rod before, it just pushes down onto a ball. The weight doesn't even need to come off the bottom. You can see more clearly on the parts diagram.
I couldn't get enough force on the parts to push the together with the access and I ended up taking a lot apart, hopefully you won't have to do that. Try to get a lever in between a pop it off. Number 17 in the diagram

Thanks for that Razzo. Didn't want to force it so hadn't tried levering it. Now I know you can separate it like that I'll do it that way, thanks!

I'll have to take the arm off when the 'box is off the car as the 2nd hand gearbox I ha e to put on didn't come with it. Much easier to sort out off the car though.
