Hello everybody,

I have a problem.

My car smell the petrol, quite strong.
Especially when I start the car, or run at low RPM.

I had my carbs completly rebuild a week ago, new air filter, new carb mounting, new piping. The car does not nose dive anymore, and I really thought that the smell would not be there anymore.
The carbs are well tuned so I don't think the mix is too poor.

My mecanic told me that the fuel pump could be a reason, "too much pressure", I am, to be honest, a bit doubtfull about this version, but I can't write off...

So dear Alfa lover, I call for your own experience...

I had this problem with my 84 Spider and I found:- leaks around the sender unit in boot floor, tightened all srewss and pipe conections. Found leaks from tops of one carb due to slightly loose screws tightened all screws and connections. No more smell in cockpit. I also understand that there can be a vapour collector situate under the rear wing? that can get blocked and cause smells.
