This is a shame, Peter wheeler was one of the great characters of the british motor industry.

PistonHeads Headlines

I remember his dog Ned "Designed" the indicator cutout on the Chimaera and, by biting a chunk out of one the full scale models.

He will be sadly missed, TVR made great cars whilst he was in charge.

He did seem to be a bit of a character and did a grand job with TVR given their resources.

64 though. No age at all these days is it?

RIP.

i met him when i went for an interview there once, what a character, and such a shame

TVR's were built just down the road from me when i lived in Blackpool, i used to watch them coming out of the factory and being driven away by their new owners

Very sad news, especially as it comes almost exactly a year since TreVoR Wilkinson (TVR's creator) passed away to:(
Took the Griff out yesterday to let people see and hear one of his finest creations.
RIP Mr. Wheeler.

sad news indeed

the AJP8 flat crank motor was a great piece of work - he and Al Melling should have been knighted for that achievement alone
