... and insist on driving right up the **** of learner drivers
even though there is no chance of ever legally
overtaking as there is a double white line/pedestrian crossing/junction
and the learner is only about 5kph below the speed limit anyway.

Just ease back and chill until a good opportunity rises.

When I take the Girlfriend for a drive she has people trying to push her along as well, because she has L plates.

She doesn't really drive like a learner, and drives at pretty much the same speed as everyone else, but those L plates are like a magnet for A***holes.

Makes me feel better, and intimidates the f*** out of the learner at the same time

My instructor (way, way back) told me that it was the people
who actually knew nothing about driving who drove up
people's arses in that manner.

To me, it appears to be more like the people who realise
what a sad meaningless existence they are leading and
probably didn't managed to score some small empty
victory over a colleague or underling at work, and so has to go
out intimidating a (perceived) worse driver than themselves
so they don't end up going home and crying themselves to
sleep that night.

No, I haven't - I'll have a look in a minute. But can you confirm or dispel the rumours going around that you keep babies in your fridge for consumption at a later date?

Quality rantage

Yea I remember when my mum was learning to drive years ago (a beige Leyland Mini it was that long ago ) some sunblest van was right up the Mini's rear, then when she stalled in traffic, blasting the horn, upsetting my mum.

Didn't take long for my dad, who is quite a big bloke, to jump out of the Mini and tell the Sunblest driver what for, who just shrunk in his seat

Whatever happened to Sunblest vans btw?

They don't have to have been driving for years, a mate of mine when I was in college used to do it all the time when he'd only just passed himself.
He thought he was hilarious until a girl he fancied told him to stop being a c-word.

Happens to me all the time and I've been driving for years.

I find it's usually women, seriously scary when they're in a big 4x4 at over 70mph on the motorways.:rant::tut:

Young lads are arseholes too. I don't remember being that bad.

Had one earlier, but I was doing "around" 60mph on an A road and she was right on my bumper.

They have no understanding of how long it would take to stop if I had to brake in an emergency.

Shame. One way to stop tailgaters is to affix a small sign on the back of you car which says: "TAILGATING: THE DOMAIN OF THE VERY SMALL PENIS"

Doesn't work on girls though....
