WTF is wrong with some people?

There are 12 apartments in my block.
Six with parking spaces and six with garages.
Most of the garages are filled with people's
stuff and they park outside in the entrance way
or on the road. Fine, no real problem there.
Although most are two car households to begin with,
so parking does get a bit tight. I don't really mind
I've got a spot, it's mine, end of.

Anyway, there is one guy who owns:
a beaten up Range-Rover
an old E class Merc
a Peugeot 206 (for his lady wife)
a knackered Yamaha bike
and I've a suspicion that the derelict Corvair is his too.

(So 4 cars and a bike, none of which live in his garage.)

This is a nice small, quiet residence. Small being the operative word.
Why would someone rent a flat that only has 1 parking space
if they had all that?

And what is it about a guy that makes him so frikking arrogant
to think that while everyone else is courteous and neighbourly,
he can act like a **** and park his "fleet" wherever he so pleases?

He's taken to parking the Range Rover in front of my parking space.
There will be words.

(He did also used to own a large trailer, which was left
in the entranceway, but someone knicked it.)

Rant over.

Nev, we've experienced the self same thing at various locations!
Got a garage allocated? Use it for the machine! Got an allocated parking space, it's yours only.

No obstructive parking anywhere, and just one car allowed per front door. Similar to the number of bins allowed per residence. Excess vehicles should be towed away and crushed!

If he leaves that much mess outside imagine what the inside of his apartment must be like

Maybe his 'fleet' will get a puncture or two, just coincidentally when the beaten up range rover is blocking your space ;) Pure coincidence of course :D

I remember when Mrs Wills and I rented a flat in a block that had the same set up. We had one parking space allocated so I put my dear old Pug GTI in it. Mrs Wills' car would sit on the road. One time, a friend stayed over and there were several spaces free and it was late so he parked in one. No problem. Then, I bought a second hand Escort that I did a few jobs on and then moved it on. Mrs Wills wrote her car off, so another was purchased, and on ocassions when I was out driving, she would park in my space. The nominated caretaker of the block got a little confused with things, and complained to our landlord that I had FIVE cars parked in residents spaces at any one time!! The matter was thankfully quickly resolved!

He may be in breach of the terms of his rent, I live in a new build house and they have cleverly kept the ground as lease hold rather than freehold. the T&C include not having a boat, caravan, mobile home or un-taxed vehicles your not allowed commercials vans or trucks other than an estate car and you have to park in your allocated spots or garages but can use the not yet built visitor spots on an occasional basis.

The bloke over the road had 4 company estate vans and left them on some of the unfinished drive ways and was served notice to get them shifted.

So have a word wiht the letting agent ..... failing that hire a tow truck and shift a few things about

Pyro

I feel for you mate, I'm lucky enough to have two allocated spaces, we own our house and the spaces come with it, when folk park in them I get livid. Some of the neighbours are like, well there has to be some give and take and I'm like NO, it's in my deeds, they are mine **** off and park on the road.

best to have a chat with him before stress levels get to high and it becomes a problem...the initial conversation could start..don't park that piece of s**t in front of my space again or else it will be parked up your a**s...all diplomatic like...if this dosent work torch all his cars and take it from there...

Where I live I would estimate that of the 90 garages available less than half house a car/motorbike. The remainder probably have, on average, £25 worth of junk stored whilst £ 10 000 vehicles stay on the road. I have some neighbours who have two garages, do not use them, and then complain that there are no parking spaces left!

Opposite my house is a tall fence that separates my street from a railway line. In front of the fence it is lanscaped with lots of quite nice trees, flowers and shrubs. Each house owns the plot of land across from it. It makes me FUME with rage when people park across from my house and stand on MY flowers and property to get out of their car - least they could do is park their car so that they exit it into the (very quiet) road (they have to point that way to leave eventually anyway as I live on a dead-end close)

Makes me grr as these people are often visiting apartments at the end of the close.

I feel your rage!!!

When I lived in Chippenham, the little cul-de-sac had a couple of Visitors spaces allocated. Unfortunately the old miserly ******* that bought the house near them decided to use them as his own personnal use, despite having a garage and parking space
I didn't really bother but when he decided to buy a Transit, a pick-up, a private taxi and a beat up old cavalier I ended up losing it, especially as I worked nights and his ****ing dog would be in the back garden all day long barking.
So I parked my car outside his front door and waited. I then noticed him parking tight in front of my car thinking he would block me in. Didn't bother me I was of on holiday for two weeks.
When I got back, he came and knocked on my door and asked if I was moving my car from his parking space. I pulled out the builders plans from when the estate was built and told him I was nowhere near his space and he'd better start behaving more neighbourly, he humphed and walked across the road. He eventually got done for no car tax on two of his 4 cars, but I honestly couldn't tell you who dropped him in it.;)
I moved soon after
