Hey guys

I'm looking to part ex my 147 GTA, you probably think I'm crazy but I've been trying to sell another car for 6 months dropped price down by 1500 and still no luck!

So rather than go through the hassle of trying to sell this one I think I may just part ex it, not sure what for though.

How much would I be likely to get for it? It has full history, cambelt clutch done last year mot and tax 83k miles

A lot less than you will get for it privately.

Has it got Q2? 330's? Xenons? Connect Nav? What year is it?

If you part ex with a garage, be prepared to get almost nothing for it. They take the book price, which will be around 2.5k I guess, if that.

Yeah q2 305s connect an not sure about xeons, it's a 2003.
Yeah I'll get considerably less than private sale but it's a hassle I can't do again!

Depending on how recent servicing you've done, and what nice parts you have on the car.. 4k could be achieved on an ebay auction. Or you could get a decent amount for it as parts as we were discussing the other day..

Depends what you are buying, somthing specialised and thirsty you could push for a good part -ex any extra is effectively what you would get after haggling for discount. It is a hassle selling privately and the higher the value the less likely that a private buyer has the ready cash...I have only once negotiated a decent trade in value - that was for my 156 SW GTA (for a Maserati 4200) and even then I could not bear to part with it - With hind sight that was a really good deal and I should have done it...I think it does come down to the hunger of the salesman - end of the month/quarter (like right now) is the best time to get a decent deal.

If you find a car you like just get a px price (which will probably be less than 2k because that's what the book says), do a deal but say you are going to try to sell privatley so it may end up as no px. Negotiate a deal with no px too. If you don't sell privately then just px it. You will almost definitely sell it for a lot more private though. Just start at about 5500 and drop it a bit every day until it sells. Get a price off auto lusso to buy to break too as your low point. This will probably be more than book value too!

Anyway, you will sell it easy, it's the best colour;) !

Unfortunately there is too much value in the components of these cars - mine will meet its fate tomorrow morning at AutoLusso. I'll make sure it gets a good send off :-(
Find out what AL will offer to break it and so long as you list on eBay with a reserve higher than this you will always win!
