Quite nice but it's Sony NEX ftw in my book - perfect blend of compact and SLR in one. Sold a Nikon D5000 for my NEX5 and haven't regretted it for a moment. New NEX 7 looks absolutely stunning complete with oled viewfinder and will be my next camera I reckon.

We have a Lumix / Panasonic DMC-TZ6 which has been brilliant from day one, knocks spots off our previous SONY Camera thats a cert.......

Although I'm not sure if I would pay £550 to replace it just yet.......

You're not comparing like with like though Roy, the camera Nev is referring to is a micro four thirds style dslr replacement system camera as is the Sony NEX.

Oi Sundance, you can get a cracking compact for that sort of money.

I've got a £75 Canon compact and I use it more than the DSLR.

I have spent a fortune on my camera kit, Canon SLR a couple of L lenses and some Sigma lenses. Easily over £2k over the last 5 years or so. And you know what, some of the best photos I have taken, that have had the most comments/views on flickr have been taken with the £200 Canon point and shoot I bought that I stuff in my pocket when I can't carry the SLR :lol:

I do like the look of those compact system ones though, would like to have a play with one.

Well, for me it's all about sensor size. So, if you're looking for a 10MP sensor, rather than 1/1.7" (7.6x5.7mm), my first port of call would be FF (36x24mm, i.e. 20x bigger), but that's just been declared "small" by Mitch Feinberg...
