Finally got my car back from its very pricey but very good full respray job (courtesy of Surface & Design, Blackpool) who I can recommend highly, by the way.

Anyways I am now obviously worried about stonechips and am looking at Paintshield after a mate used it on his F355. Its one of these plasticky stonechip preventing film things that the firm themselves put on either bits of car or the whole front end.

Has anyone got any experience of it? Especially on Alfa Nuvola Blue? Are there any disadvantages, for example if it gets a ding and needs a bit of new paint are there issues? Any pros / cons or thoughts appreciated.

I see this fairly regularly, the cheaper stuff seems to turn yellow fairly quickly but the 3M stuff seems to resist yellowing for a long time and most people will have this in stock. You need to let fresh paint gas off for 4-6 weeks before applying paint protection film (I assume that is for the same reason that you can't wax for this length of time either)
