Engine Management Light, OBD points to EGT Sensor.

I've been quoted £240 to replace sensor, which I thought was a bit steep.

I can pick a new sensor up for £60, is it easy to fit a new one?

I have 2010 Giulietta 2.0 jtdm, 170hp

i have a 2012 of the same engine, and mine threw up the P242A error last night too. I have a plug in code reader which is failing to reset it, i've come on here looking for advice too. My mechanic friend is going to quote me today on the fix, so i'll let you know the price when he gets back to me.

I've done the temporary fix with a resistor that on another thread on this site, and my mechanic is doing it for £110, his source for the sensor is £75 + vat, and he's charging £20 to fit it. It's an easy job. I would do it myself, but he has better tools for the job than i do lol

Thanks for getting back to me. Yeah, I thought I was getting overcharged, I'll give it go myself.

£20-can't beat mates rates :D
