P1062, P0300, P0302 errors occur sometimes....

I had the following problem and the fault code as the title says, but the dealer can't reproduce it.

  • Idling vibrates(rough)
  • Vibration when moving
  • Raw gas smell
  • Engine warning light comes on
  • There is a Start&Stop disabled indication

They replaced the direct ignition coil and plugs and checked the harness.
It was fine the day I got it back, but just now it started idling erratically again. Fault codes U1008, P0302, P0300 were recorded and are ongoing.
Unlike last time, P1062 is not recorded and can be moved.

And worst of all, it doesn't reproduce anymore.
I'm extremely frustrated that I have no use for this car.

I know Giulietta's and MiTo's have had this problem and in many cases it has been resolved by replacing the MA or its filter.

I suspect that the Giulia also has a problem with the MultiAir unit.

If anyone has encountered or solved this kind of problem, please let me know.

Sounds like classic MultiAir related misfire on cylinder 2 (P0302). This is not very common but some who had this have finally managed to solve this by replacement of the Multiair 2 module. The filter is in the head and cannot be easily replaced without dismantling the engine unlike the Multiair 1 versions in the Mito/Giulietta.

See this post for location of MA filter.

and this for MA replacement:

Thanks for the info.

I guess it's better to replace the MA unit. However, it is going to be a pain to convince the dealer of this information.
(Actually, they are in denial that it is the MA unit problem.)
We can only hope that it will reproduce under the dealer...

I found out that if I wanted to replace the filter on the MA2, I would have to go through the trouble of replacing the entire MA unit.
Also, it does indeed occur only when it's cold. I think the humidity was too high, but I didn't measure it exactly. The humidity is also low in Japan during this season.

Sadly, it recurred yesterday.
It was cold and rainy (sleet).

I read the error code and found the following CODE.
Uniair's Cyl2 also detected the error.
I did a full scan as far as I could get from this time, but I noticed that the body computer system was also throwing up errors.

I'm not so sure if this is just a problem with the multi air unit.

Code:
U1008-00
P0302-00
P0300-00
P0363-00
P1062-00
U1713-2F
B1040-64

I contacted the dealer today and they are going to replace the multi air unit.
They don't have it in stock, so it will take a while.

@metalgod23 I want to thank you for all your help. I haven't replaced it yet, so I don't know what the outcome will be, but so far it's going in a direction I'm happy with. Your information has been helpful. Thanks again.
