I know but without one my car isn't going to move anywhere fast! Is there a replacement or alternative?

You could try a motorcycle specialist. Not a main dealer or anything like that - maybe one that specialises in classic motorcycles ( cable operated brakes and clutches! ).

They may be able to make up a new inner cable using your existing outer ( if it isn't damaged or too worn ).

The only issue will be of the length. I don't think there's any scope for adjusting the throttle cable so the length will have to be perfect.

I don't know as the car will be going to Day and Whites later this week. Would rather replace the whole thing in one go if I can.

Ok. I did have a phase 1 cable set but got a feeling another member had it a while ago. Will have a look. It looks like a right pain to change and might involve taking the inlet manifold off to access the cable quadrant.

Great, thank you. If you don't have one then it will have to be 'recabled' . Amazing really as it not exactly a difficult thing to have stocked up on.

Sorry mate don't have a cable. I don't know if phase 2 cables are available but I would imagine the ends are the same and the length would be right. You could bypass the 2 part cable completely. Still looks a bugger to fit at the pedal end though. A good bicycle shop should be able to make Bowden cables also. They Just need the length and the type of ends to solder on.
