I have a very old big one - almost the size of camcorders you can get nowadays  Even some mobile phones have a higher MP

Kurz, what I mean is that I might get a second camera body. As long it's Canon I can use any lens I'm using with the body I have now (EOS20D).

That's another good thing with (D)SLR's, having a interchangeable lenses.

Starting a poll just to tell us you're getting a digi cam? :cheese:

Sort of ;)

AG'll buy it with the money she got for graduating :)

Thinking of Canon A85 or A95

Nice. :)

I'll get some nice shots for you when we are on our way to mid-finland in ~2 weeks....

While we're there, I'll be using the 100€ woth of AutoGlym products + Zaino claybars on me car... to get REALLY shiny car photos...

Hope it doesn't rain then

Last Friday my new Canon EOS 350D arrived with 2GB CF Microdrive. I played with it the whole weekend. I wish it was a little bigger for my hands, but I already ordered vertical grip. I hope this will solve it. Now with my trusty EOS30 for sale I have gone completely digital.

@Throttleman - if you are thinking about backup body, dont look any further

That's cool Gotcha!! But did you got a Microdrive?

Yeap, they're great! But I wouldn't mind to get a 1Ds and turn the 20D into a backup. :D Keep dreaming... It's easier to second hand 300D. ;)

Yes, I bought 2GB Hitachi Microdrive CFII card for 119 Euro. But I still think I will need more space in the future. I am starting to shoot mainly in RAW and post process in Phase One "Capture one pro 3.7" software. I played with it last night - incredible digital darkroom :) And those 2GB are good only for 230 RAW images. I am flying to South Africa on a business trip next week, but I am sure in such a place I will need more storage as 230pics. I will post some pictures after I am back.

:) :) 1Ds :) :) I would have to sell my Alfa to afford one. I wanted 20D realy much, I wouldnt buy 300D as main body, but after 350D showed up, I was quickly decided. I am only missing bigger size and second control wheel on the back. But I didnt wanted to pay double price for just these two things.

If you're shoting in raw you'll need more space. :D But I wouldn't buy another Microdrive (actually I wouldn't buy any Microdride). Microdrives are far from being as good as CF's. They become hot when working hard, they have internal moving mechanisms, they consume more energy and they're not as fast as good CF's. And the chance of creating errors are much bigger.

I got 2 Sandisk UltraII CF's, 1GB each for a great price (around 140€ for both). As soon I can afford  I'll get a proper digital storage, like the Transcend Digital Album or similar. While backing up one cf I can still use the other. ;)

Nice! Indeed a great darkroom! As Adobe ACR and Bibble, from Bibblelabs.com. But I need to take some time and see what's best for me. :)

I will post some pictures after I am back.
Have a safe trip. :) I'll be waiting for those photos. :)

:) :) 1Ds :) :) I would have to sell my Alfa to afford one.
Me too, I'm affraid. Let's see what future might bring... :)

And you did well IMHO! :)

I really fancy the 2 wheels. :D

It's really nice to have another Canonier here. :)

I just replaced my funky Kodak with a Samsung Digimax 430.

Well pleased at it's ace for what I use a camera for, it makes my willy look bigger....I mean, I don't need a "pro" camera.

Does videos with sound at 30fps, just sound recordings and all other natty stuff. Should really read the instructions though. It's also very small and light with 4megapixels. Less than ÂŁ150 which I thought was good....but maybe it isn't......

Taking about Kodak... seems like Kodak is off from the professional digital cameras market. They'll be working mainly to the consumer market.

I was standing in the shop and the 1GB Sandisk you have cost 96Euro. I was decided to go for it, but than I spotted 2GB Microdrive for just 23Euro more. Couldnt resist. But it is not that bad. I tried to measure its speed in USB2 CF reader and copied 1,5GB on it. It wasnt really so hot and I got 2,4MB/s write and 5MB/s read speed. As to errors, I will tell you one year leater. ;)

Same with me, I will go for this one as I can get it here very cheap without HDD.

Adobe doesnt support 350D in its Photoshop CS RAW converter. Only in the brand new CSII version that I dont have.

We can't beat that value if we're on a budget. :)

I hope not! I hope you wont never get a MD crash. The worst that can happen is to loose hours of work and probably images that we wont see again. :(

Good option. :) Then you can get the HD that you want. But check the transfer times before. I've seen some of that kind of data storage with very, very(!) slow speeds.

Ops didn't notice. :D

I wish!!! :D
