With the help of a number of members I've got the issues sorted on my car, I've actually found out from a specialist that my car is actually a phase 2 despite being told it was on the cross over.
The car sailed through its MOT, well apart from high emmisions, but whilst lying under the car yesterday I've seen some 'scruffy' bits.
I know eventually ballpoints need to be replaced but I'm thinking of the two plates that attach to the lower wishbones.
If it came to selling the car would shiny new bits actually add any more value?
It probably sounds a daft question but I'm thinking new lower wishbones, those panels, drop links and other bits.

Highly unlikely having shiney bits hidden under the car will add value and the car needs wishbones, drop links etc, you can't do without them.

Lol I know they need them and expect them to show lots of signs of damage due to there position but was just thinking if I replaced it all with new stuff I know it's been done but the metal 'plates' would it be just as easy to remove and clean them up or if I'm taking them off to just replace with new?
The main reason for asking is I drive a 4x4 which I off road and the general rule for that if it ain't broke it don't need fixing!
Just trying to gauge an expectation I suppose and the opinions of other owners, if something looks scruffy would you replace it?

There's no such thing as a 'crossover', they're either a Ph1 or a Ph2. Some later Ph1s had Momo 'stitched/ribbed' seats which are casually referred to as Ph2 seats. So many cars have had things changed to make them look newer it's somtimes difficult for the 'untrained' eye to know, the dash & engine are the easy give aways.........but even these get changed.

The 'scruffy bits' - the reinforcements you mention - can be tidied up (wirebrushed and painted) as long as they haven't rusted through. New replacements are not overly expensive if you need them - someone on here wrote about that recently. As I recall, a phase-1 car has rubber bushes which need to be 'bypassed' by mounting the plate with washers etc. The plates are solidly mounted on the phase-2 and later.

"Shiny bits" will not really add any value. The expectation is that everything is in good working condition - which, for those reinforcement plates, means that they must be reasonably protected from deterioration.
