Hi all,
Some dolt has over tightened the Oil Cap on my 147.
Seeing as we all have a T-Spark engine, you’re no doubt familiar with the design how the cap is recessed into the cover and there’s little room to get a grip on the thing.
As both the Cap and the hole fitting are plastic; I’m thinking of doing this when it’s warmed up...
Just to avoid cracking the plastic and so it has more ‘give’...

Any tips on how to carefully undo without damage please?

I’ve just read about a ‘Boa Rubber Strap Wrench’ and may try to fashion something similar out of an old cam belt...

Any tips welcome thanks!

Well I managed to shift it!
I covered the cap initially with 2 broken rubber disposable gloves.
Then I put a cloth (ok old boxer shorts lol) around the top of the engine plastic to protect that.
I had an old cambelt with the idea of wrapping that around the oil cap to grip and turn it. It kept slipping.
Then I put over the top of that an oil filter loop wrench.
The cambelt slipped again.
Next I tried an old cycle inner tube and that gripped really well between the oil cap and the filter loop wrench.
So glad it’s freed up now!
I’ve topped up, cleaned the cap and hand tightened it back now, but not tight at all
