I work in the Casino down Gunwharf in Portsmouth...
I drive my car too work, as do most people, as it's convenient, quick. comfortable blah blah...
However, the car park I have to park in, is the Gunwharf car park... Now you'd think as I'm working in Gunwharf, and only leave my car there during the day to earn a living, that i'd get too park for free.. BUT NO
Daytime weekdays, and any nights i park down there, its £3.70.. We do get a discount, but it's still ridiculous!
And if i were too work in the daytime on a weekend, i get NO discount! This sunday just gone, i had to pay £14.50 just to go to work! I mean.. Not being funny but WHAT ?!?

There suggestion was too park in the "overflow" car park, about a 10 minute walk away from Gunwharf.. Too which the only road to get too it, is currently undergoing roadworks so you can't even get too it :S ...

Is it me, or is this slightly unfair :(

Oh and the other thing, between 6pm and 6am at night, customers get there parking for free, however staff aren't allowed to stamp there parking tickets and are forced too pay

This is one of the major factors that has made me give up running a car. £5 in petrol & £3.50 to park plus 45 minutes each way for an 8 mile journey due to bizarre traffic calming measures don't compare well to even a poor rail service.

My only other options are to ride a motorbike, as they park free in gunwharf, or get a taxi...
I have a 125, but when it's ****ing down with rain, and you finish work at 3 in the morning, riding a 125 home isn't ideal!

I use a scooter more than I use My Alfa. I invested in a Drizbone coat. Designed for horse riding so you can wrap the coat tails round you legs like overtrousers. It cost a bit, but it keeps me dry. Use the saved parking money to get decent wet weather gear.

Thats a fair point... Using the money saved to buy decent wet weather gear...
Thing is, i have pretty decent stuff already, it's just the confidence to ride when i know it's going to be icy/wet.... As i finish my shifts usually at 3am, its the iciest time and i wouldn't want too come off :(

Was tempted too ride today into work, but found no gloves :( So started to ride without gloves, turned round at the end of the road and jumped back in the car :cheese:
