Driving along on Saturday heading for the south coast (as u do) and about just a mile from home and there's a clear bit of road so the toe goes down (it would have been rude not too!) only thing was nothing happened except a loud hissing sound from underneath.
Took my foot of and the hissing went, foot down and hissing and no power. Its going but sounds like and drives like an old skoda!
I managed to get it to Quick fit who says that
1) the air electronics have gone
or
2) the cat has gone (followed by one of the thats going to be expensive sighs whilst holding the chin)
or
3) the exhaust has blocked?????? EH???

how much for a new exhaust i asked keeping the quads at the back
£393 was the reply! GULP!!!

Made some calls to mates who have fast cars and they suggest going to a place in Bromley called RSR who have a specialist exhaust man

called em up and they booked it in for this morning.

Oh dear he says upon hearing it, no pressure from the quads at all.
front box behind the cat had gone as had the middle box. the back box (3 boxes in total) on the custom quads was blocked on the V pipe with enough material to fill a bucket.
2 hours later and after some explaining on how an exhausts works, a new custom exhaust has been fitted with two silencers instead of three. SHE SOUNDS AWESOME! Even my mates with ahem scoobies said it sounds the "explicit word"
And all for the bargain price of £213 and small change
oh and its a bit quicker as well! looking forward to the tunnels

Wow what a great silver lining!

I'm taking my first step down that road very soon - I've just done 1800 miles to the south of France and back with my centre section and back box banging against each other, the centre having rusted through right at the join.

Gazzella do a Ragazzon stainless centre section with no silencer for £99+vat, so I thought that would be a good place to start. Do you reckon the sound will change much, with the rest of the system left as standard?

You will almost certainly hear a different pitch in engine noise as you have removed a baffle, also there will be a small increase in power

Cool! Not too bothered about the power as it's fast enough for me, but I can't wait for my new exhaust to arrive :)
