Hi, i own an Alfa Romeo Mito Lusso 1.4 95bhp and I have noticed that under light breaking I occasionally get screeching. When I break firmly, it becomes a grinding noise, then goes away completely. what could this be, I don't think they are worn out as they were replaced last service not long ago ! Any help would be great, also if I was to replace them, which ones are best performance wise, thanks!

some cars come with anti-squeal shims that go in the brakes to stop this happening perhaps yours (assuming they are normally fitted) were left out when replaced?

Pads not bedded in yet? How many miles since the pads were changed?
