Took the car out for a spin this morning, all OK. Got home and tried to start it again ;after 2 minutes; Would not start, engine turning over with great zest, but no ignition. The heater flaps, could be heard opening and closing quite loudly but car would not fire up. Finally after a further 10 minutes ; wonderfull. car back to normal but quite a worry !! The ignition barrel feels a bit floppy, allowing the key to move slightly. The engine management light is on continually, the red light at 8000rpm on the dash. The car is running beautifully but I have lost confidence to take it very far

Was the engine management light on before the problem?

YES, it was but if I gently touch the key, whilst in motion, the light flickers !!. Could it be a suspect barrel ??? or a badly fitting key ???...I onl have 1 key. £175, for an extra key, including the reprogramming of my existing key. I will have it done this week anyway .
