Hi guys,

I’m guttered, my 2003 156 2.4 JTD veloce is not starting from cold.

The garage has had it two day,s they changed the glow plugs and glow plug control unit. Checked all the fuses and relays they could find. And there all good.

But it's had no effect on the cold start.

anybody got any suggestions. or anybody recommend a good specialist, I’m in Nottingham.

cheers j

crank sensor?

That would be from hot, how is your diesel heater? is it working ok? (it will heat the fuel up to 15 deg C if it is less than 6 deg C)

If you read that whole post, it said that when he had crank sensor problems it would start when cold but not warm, however he then went on to state that this time it only starts when hot :p

Ive read through it again, I find it a bit of a confusing post... Because its either that it starts when its cold and not hot or it starts when its hot and not cold.
Thing is, if it does only start when its warm how does he start it at all then? in the morning for instance. Or is it a weather issue he is talking about? like if its warm outside then it starts ok but if its cold then it doesnt start properly.

Mines a cow to start when its below 5 degrees or so cranks for what seems like an age before firing then runs perfect and starts fine rest of the day no matter how long its left...... But the glow plug light does flash???? Glow plugs are in tolerence and have voltage to them. So I'm unsure where to look too.
Sorry no help to you but seems we have same fault
