There was a rumour that like Porsche Alfa may increase prices for the top performance cars prior to end of March because of Brexit. But now Brexit will be delayed a few months. So hopefully no price increase, for a while.

The prices on the configurator have remained the same (now that it is back). So far so good. Are dealers still taking orders? Anyone placed an order 5th March onward?

Small print on the UK web site now mentions Brexit surcharge for cars not bought from stock prior to 29th March .

That’s interesting?? Porsche I believe have stated that they will place a 10% surcharge on all vehicles purchased in the event of a ‘no-deal Brexit’.

Placed an order for a Giulia in Feb, to be delivered around mid May, haven’t heard anything yet from the dealer if there will be a surcharge added in the event of a hard Brexit.

I was told exactly the same by someone who had recently ordered a Porsche.

And I have not heard anything about a Brexit surcharge from Alfa yet either (ordered early March).

The price has reduced now ?
Back to the original price or even lower?

FYI, email today from my dealer to say my car has now been built and working its way to the UK.

Fantastic! Mines probably 3 to 4 weeks behind yours. Check to see if exhaust valves open in Race and Dynamic mode.
Yes, I just replied to the valve thread. Hopefully it will have been built with this as it's something I'd have to sort out as I love a good bit of exhaust noise.

Do you have your QV? If so, you're probably driving around a lot and not checking this forum!

My QV has completed manufacture so was wondering how long did your QV take for delivery to the UK? Any issues with your PDI?

No not yet. I received an email from the dealer 8 days ago to say it had been built and was awaiting transportation from Italy to the UK. I expect it'll be another 3 weeks or so by the time it gets here and PDI'd.

If yours has only recently completed build too then it is possible it will catch up with mine at the port whilst waiting for a ship. I assume they come by ferry? I know Audi send the cars by train to the port then a ship to one of 3 ports then a car transporter from the UK port to the dealer. Not sure how Alfa do it?

My dealer suggested 3 week wait, so perhaps our cars being transported together.

Managed to get a decent insurance quote and alerted a local detailing specialist.

Not sure how Alfa's get from the factory to the port in Italy, probably train or transporter, but from Italy they get a ship to Royal Portbury Docks near Bristol and then car transporter from there to the dealer. That's why you may see a fair few Alfa's and Fiat's (and Jeeps now) kicking around with WM, WN, WO, WP, WR, WT & WV registration prefixes - these are usually ex-rental/Fiat Group company cars that are registered at the port (the W prefix is for Westcountry and the second letters above represent the Bristol area). For VW Group the same applies but the registrations tend to start with G (Garden of England) as many of their cars come into one of the ports in Kent. I want to say Sheerness, but might be wrong with which specific port they use.

Hope your Giulia lands soon!
