Hi went to drive off this morning struggled to get any acceleration, put foot fully down but took ages to get anything. Called out RAC he could not solve the problem the engine management light did not come on but when he checked it the code was p2009 flow shutter valve.

Any ideas on fix for this and also cost of fix.

Cheers

Could be swirl flaps. I had a similar issue a few years back and could hardly get the car up the garage ramp. It's a bit of pain, need to remove fuel rail and cam belt, part at the time was around €400, about €1k all up.

Unless the JD is already affecting my brain you have answered your own question. The shutter valve (also known as an anti-shudder valve that makes your engine not shudder when you turn it off by closing off the intake manifold....the bit that folks mistakenly call a throttle valve even though TDIs don't have a throttle!)) has a fault...probably stuck shut...so virtually no air can get into your engine. Another double please Mrs Alfaitalia!
