Hello,

I just wanted to say hi and introduce me as a newcomer into classic Alfa ownership. Bought a 1972 2000 GTV and have restored it for the last two months - good solid base :)

More money than I initially thought, but the experience is being very rewarding. These cars are a joy to drive and have a personality that you can't find very often.

I´ll be reading your posts.

Regards

If you don't mind me asking how much did it cost in the end for the rebuild??
Rust was all superficial but I preferred to change the door panels, the usual #3 repair sections and even part of the outer sill. I also replaced the gas tank and painted the whole car in the original Pine Green.

Total cost for pieces and metal/paint work: 3000 euros
Plus 1000 euros for mechanical fine tuning.

Now the car is an absolute blast. It revs up very well - sometimes to over 6000 rpm before I noticed... It breaks and handles very well too. It actually drives faster than most cars on the road. Having a good time.

Next steps on the interior. Still have to figure out how to put back seatbelts. Oh, and my right seat keeps sliding forwards and backwards - it seems like it's missing part of the locking mechanism.
