:) Hi everyone/anyone. This is my first post...so please be kind...or else! Just like to say what a great site this is...helpful, amusing, depressing (at times!) but overall uplifting!

I own a 147 2.0 ts (rosso) and absolutely love it, apart from having to pay out for a few repairs/replacements since i bought in in August 2005. All work carried out on the car has been done by "Ferdi's" in Lytham, Lancashire...what a great guy...really knows his stuff.

I'm just preparing the car and myself for a road-trip to Maranello (Italy) with a mate of mine (my other half is off to Spain with her mum...so what else could i do?). Really looking forward to driving on the continent. Done it before but in hire cars...not quite the same as doing it in your own Alfa though, is it?

Anyway, just though it was about time i introduced myself.

Cheers,

Stew

Nice one Bodgit...travelling in style eh? Would really love to be doing my journey in a GTA but hey, the 2.0ts will have to do this time!

I'm planning to take lots of photos on the journey...will post some of the best when i get back...if i decide to come back!

Gotta go now...my ten year old keeps reminding me i promised to do something for him. Now what was it? Oh yeah...PUT HIM TO BED!!

Catch you all later.

Best wishes,

Stew.:)

Welcome amico. I drive my Alfa regularly to Italy and back for some wine and food shopping. Not a big deal at all (for the car... for me... mildly boring after a few times...) . Actually suits the engine better than green-yellow-red-light-nonsense in the centre of town... btw, if you'rw going to maranello, there's a fabulous trattoria near the F factory (unless you'r drawn into the F restaruant...)

Hi everyone. Will definately try to fit Arese into the schedule...shouldn't be too difficult as i'm hitting Italy via the Simplon pass, then on to Stresa (Lake Maggiore) and on down via Milan to Maranello.

I've been to Maranello a couple of times but it will be my mate's first visit...can't wait so see his jaw drop when we arrive!

One thing for sure, i will drive every Renault i see off the bl**dy road!

A_Romeo, where is the trattoria? Let me know and i'll check it out mate.

Any way, need to get back to downloading my "road trip music".

"On days like these" anyone?

Cheers,

Stew.

Hi alfaowner,

Unfortunately i won't have a phone with camera with me. I'm taking a digital camera and i will be quite happy to burn you a CD of any relevant photos and forward it to you when i get back, or i could upload them to the site for you to approve when i get back. Please let me know which you prefer.

Best wishes,

Stew.
