Hi all,

Have trawled the forums but think this is a new query.

After some interesting episodes this year, I need to replace my 156 GTA's front tow point cover- which I have sourced for c.£18. GTA is Miro Red, and I assume I will have to spray the cover myself.

Here come the questions:-

Do I need a background and topcoat?
Anyone recommend a paint supplier?
Do these come as aerosols or will I need a compressor & spray?

Cheers,

You can normally go to a local paint supplier and they can match your paint and mix it up into an aerosol for you, just ask them to check the paint chips they carry against your colour as some manufacturers mixes vary slightly and you should get a pretty good match that way.

Alfa use water based paint and lacquer. But for something small like that you could probably get away with an aerosol as long as it matches. Alfa red is notorious for having multiple shades of the same colour code. The code should be on a label on the edge of the boot lid.

Agree with that thats why I said to get the paint chips out, went for a can for mine recently and the variance between manufacturers was immense but got a really good match by going through them all.
And don't go when it's raining makes it harder to see the colours properly.
