The event postponed last month has now been re-arranged for Saturday 24 November at 12.00.

To recap. Avanti Autos in Ipswich - our local indie specialist will be emptying their workshop on this day and given an exclusive invitation to Alfaowner members to come along and have a look round - see the inner workings of a TS engine like yours. Marvel at GTV6s awaiting restoration. MORE - have your car put on an examiner and find out what's wrong with it (if you dare). Ask all of the questions you want. ALL FOR FREE. (Obviously they will not carry out free repairs).

This is an exceptionally generous offer and afterwards I suggest that we take them for a meal/drink.

They are Mario and Paul the owners and possibly Jay their apprentice. Mario was atrainer for Alfa UK and Paul a qualified Alfa Technician.

This is going to be a popular event so please RSVP - if I have to limit numbers it will be first come first served.

Go on - be there.

I am worried about what might be found, but hey they might give me a clean bill of health (err, the car I mean) :)

Latest - I have spoken to Clare the regional rep for AROC. She heard about our event as she and her husband take their cars to Avanti. We can have a maximum of 40 cars at this event and she will ask AROC members to sign up too - I reckon on a max of 20 each. If it comes down to the wire we get first dibs.

HOWEVER

I see this as a real opportunity to work together - we all love Alfas and this is a chance to co-operate. Clare and I both believe that if we publicise each others events over the next year it can work to our mutual benefit - for example there are track days in Woodbridge (Suffolk) which we COULD be involved in - More details on 24 November - come on - just BE there.

Message for Richyfox - you are as old as me.

I "Helped" my daughter move in June - nice gesture, minimal use - all of her friends were 6' tall rugby players and I carried the odd paperback novel (300 pages or less).

Get yourself over here mate and avoid an embarassing strain.

Paul.
(Do understand actually but we will be sorry to miss you - LizR was looking forward to a shopping spree with LizF).
