I guess Livingston is South Scotland,I posted up in the intro forum. http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/introduce-yourself/315221-new-from-central-scotland.html

I'm looking for my first Alfa, like i said in my intro post probably a 156 is the sensible option,it'll be a second car/my baby but as I've 3 nippers there is always the odd time they'll be in the nice car  so in reality the 3.0 GTV i had my heart set on is oot the winda !
A nice 156 JTS or a 2.5 maybe, the budget is 2.5/2.8 very tops, lots of cars out there but its sorting out the crap from the good thats doin' my heid in . I was going to go look at a 1.9 m-jet JTD but i though nah ! Its a toy I'm after, its got to be a petrol ,flame suit on already   ooooh and its got to have leather.
Hopefully I'll officially be in the fold before not too long.
Cheers

Wlecome here! Never forget your dreams! Buy mine GTV 3.0 V6
Good luck for searching!
I think if you really petrolhead, best option the V6 in GTV or 156 too.
The 2,0 JTS and 1,9M-jet nearly same power but the diesel lots-lots cheaper cost.

Hello and welcome to AOS Livicol. Nothing wrong with having dreams - hopefully yours will come true.

The 156 is a great car. We have got a 156 V6 and a 156 3.2 GTA - both are awesome cars to drive and are very different from each other. They are very spacious and will accommodate your family with no trouble at all ;)

Happy hunting  and hopefully we will see you at one of the meets in 2012.

Most decent stuff, as is normal when looking for a car or bike, is doon the road,a couple of things up here,a 156 jts facelift model, decent miles for sale in Perthshire , no leather though, in fact the seats look like ur grannies fave valour curtains:eek:
There is loads of the usual stuff in the free advertisers, a bit of a minefield.
The GTV up Aberdeen way ,the mot failure , keeps drawing me... big miles mind you, plus obviously it needs sorted for mot.
If anyone knows of a good original/honest car give me shout, I need to get fixed up with something quick smart.

If the GTV in Aberdeen you are referring to is the one being sold by Gleggzer it is a beautiful car. He had the cam belt and other stuff done last year at MacLennans in Loanhead. Well worth the money he is asking for it even with the work required to get it through the MOT. He was also throwing in the private plate *** GTV

Mind you, you said you needed it to be big enough for your family, which I don't think the GTV really is :(

Thats the car,cheers...I've pm'd him but i think he is away just now.
The family thing is a minor inconvenience, even less so in a month or so(sounds sinister that eh )their new school opens then which is a walk rather than a short car trip.
Its a 2nd car/toy I'm looking for,I've a local 156 to go look at over the next few days also.

Have you thought about a GT as they have three seats in the back and if it's only going to be the odd occasion the all the family are going to be in there it shouldn't be a problem..

Slightly more expensive than you want to spend but there are plenty of good ones out there..

:lol::lol: my blAAdy budget is getting lower each passing day,got a nice bill for one of my bikes to pay tomorrow,I've now looked at local 156 2.0 ts,a bit scabby and not particularly what I'm looking for engine wise and a 3.0 GTV which needed attn at the oily end,nae doubt good for the asking price but I need something ready to roll.
I'll give it a week or so,if nowt grabs my attn I'll just need to make do with my Ducatis for the Italian buzz and go buy something run of the mill before the wife serves me up my knackers for dinner.
