Hi
I am now on my third Alfa, having just bought a 1998 GTV 2.0 TS.
I started with a 1999 156 2.0 TS. A very comfortable (for the better half) and exciting drive. I loved that T.Spark engine. But I knew that engine would be even better with a smaller, lighter car beneath it. So when it died I found an 02 plated 147 Selespeed. A great ammount of fun to be had in that one. The gear selection was bang-on, the ride just that little bit firmer and the engine proved me right to great effect. Coupled with the top spec interior that came along with this, it was easily love at first drive.
Just as the Selespeed box started developing selection faults I had a crash in it that exasperated this fault to a point where the car became beyond economical repair
This is how I stumbled upon the GTV. I had been searching nationally for a similarly top-spec'd manual-boxed replacement for the 147 with similar low mileage within my pretty limited budget, when I by chance phoned my local Alfa specialist to see if they might have what I was looking for. They didn't, but after I casually mentioned that I'd phoned up after a lovely looking GTV that turned out to be 200 miles away I was informed that they had a GTV with amazing service history but high mileage on it that they would let go for a price at the top end of my budget.
And so a new love has entered my life :inlove:

Cheers NineOneSix
Due to nightmare shifts patterns and now the freezing weather I have only managed to wash so far. As soon as I can get properly polished and waxed up I'll post some pics
