Morning all.

I've just ordered a new camera (Panasonic FZ28) and I'm looking at getting an 8GB card for it.

My question is can I use SDHC class 6 card (faster) in place of a class 4 card:confused:

I can get a Kingston 8mb Class 6 card for £16.95 delivered:)

Cheers,

Simon, Check what the data rate is directly.

I always go for Sandisk Extreme III these days which are 30Mbps
and I think are class 6.

Expensive, but half the price in the US. ;)

Cheaper/slower are the Ultra II which are half the speed.

Be aware that some cameras do not take advantage of
the higher data rates. I know my EOS 300D doesn't.
(Probably only older cameras are an issue?)

Here are the detailed specs but write speed isn't mentioned:(

Will it work though, regardless of the card speed:confused:

Big cards are good for video.

And as the pixel count keeps increasing so do the file sizes.

Largest SDHC I have is a 6GB Panasonic one I picked up when
I bought the SX200.

Still (physically) prefer the compact flash format though........
