Hello,

I've recently purchased a 1983 Alfasud and need a few pointers as help...

1) The car needs new front seats, as someone has put bucket seats in....
2) I'm going to look at getting the car resprayed as it has been resprayed to a poor standard.. I was thinking ROSSO MIRO as the colour... would that be any good?
3) The headlight surrounds and spoiler have been painted, does anyone know if these can be stripped?
4) I need some TI Wheels.... Any ideas on where to buy?
5) If I respray the car, how can I limit risk on getting rust back trough after a couple of months?

I would really appreciate any answer!

Cheers

good choice, some pics will be nice ;)

1) ti seats are VERY hard to come by, is it the black ones with the red "Ti" logo? matt from down in west sussex may be able to help you, he had a pair of good front seats, astudialf is his member name
2) rosso alfa 530 is the correct shade to go for, but up to you which you end up with if having a full respray
3) you may be able to strip the plastic trims, but be careful. very difficult to replace the twin headlamp surrounds.
4) ti wheels turn up from time to time, shouldn't be hard to find. just make sure you get 14" ones and not the metric ones, VERY expensive to buy tyres for the metric wheels
5) the only way to stop the rust coming back through is to cut out the rot and weld in new metal. no short cuts i'm afraid

Thanks for the reply, I presume that a decent welder will know which metal is best?

Not sure about the seats, they have been changed for bucket seats... Was thinking that I might go for the GTA Miro red, for a rare factor....

Great advice RE the wheels, I didn't know that :)

Hello, as Kev has said, I do have ti seats, at least two full sets. I've also later S3 ti light surrounds, one pair which are excellent, they even have all the rear brackets intact. Lots of others too. Ti headlamps, including outers. Also have 14" alloys here. In fact loads of gear. Too much to list. Let me know via pm if you need anything. I know that car as it used to belong to Ian in Bristol. I saw it about 2 years ago. Paint job really does let it down, 'cause from memory, at the time it didn't look too bad for rust. I mean, it did have some but not too bad and it had been in his garage for years. I can't remember if it was a normal ti or qv, it had been messed about with a bit but if it was a qv then right colours are black, red or silver. Good luck with it though.
