my head unit has an ipod connector which is really good but i want to run the wire from the back of the head unit thru to either the centre armrest or the glove box, anyone done this before or similar???
Yeah I've just done got mine the glove box, I'm no expert, its actually pretty easy. If you tape the iPod cable to someting long and thin, I used some brazing rod but I should think a stick would do as long as it's not to floppy.
Then poke the stick with cable attached into where the radio sits aiming to left. Then if you feel with your other hand in the passenger foot well where the carpet meets the centre consol you can get your fingers in sort of behind the dash. With a bit of jiggling you can reach the cable on the stick and fish it through.
There is then a convinient cut out at the bottom right of the glove box to allow the cable into the glove box.
mines in the glovebox with the ipod adapter tucked up in the footwell. i took the side piece of carpet off and fed it up through. i would say the centre console is also doable by removing the lower console first to feed the lead through.
