Hi. If you look at the "Known Issues" sticky thread on this forum that tells you the most common problems. Depends how old/how many miles/ what engine variant. They are generally the same as all other second hand cars for any given age. Check for the usual things like service history. Depending on engine variant check that the cambelt and water pump has been changed on time. If it's a petrol engine it needs to be done every 3 years regardless of mileage, especially on the JTS. Look under the car and make sure the floorpan isn't rusty. They are a bit slapdash with the underbody sealant at the factory. Otherwise check for suspension knocks and bumps, wheel bearing noises, make sure the temp gauge goes up to 90 and stays there otherwise you probably need a new thermostat. Check the gearchange for stiffness/sloppiness. Both signs of neglect but stiffness is a cheap fix. Check the oil. If it's low it's probably not being looked after. You have to keep on top of oil level with the petrol variants. That's all I can think of for now but check that thread. Good luck!
