Hi

Have 2004 ICS with phone, have a Vodafone SIM and a 3/O2 SIM. It doesn't even try to read the 3 sim, it can read the vodafone SIM but can't register on the network. "Emergency Calls Only". I know the Vodafone SIM is good as it works fine in other phones. Have tried messing around with settings, like manual network selection and all that jazz but no joy. The available networks coded into the ICS are "Eircell" and ESAT (blasts from the past both!). Notionally Eircell should correspond to Vodafone and ESAT to 3 (via O2). I feel I'm quite close.

Anyone know if there is some magic?

thanks
John

Hi John

I have experienced the same thing for a couple of years now. I'm on Meteor, despite occasional investigation I haven't found a solution.

Think John might have sold/traded his 166s?

I experienced the same problems when I bought the first extra SIM-Card for my ICS-Phone. These GSM-Phones only work with the GSM 900 (Mhz) band. All GSM 1800 SIM-Cards won't work. I had to switch from the german Aldi-Talk SIM (E-Plus/Telefonica) to a (german) Telekom SIM.
