On my 2001 156 Sportwagan I've had the lower wishbones, rear training arm bushes replaced (amongst otehr things) for the MoT. When I got the car back from the specialist, there was a slight clunk on reversing load on the driving wheels which has since got worse. Its back in Ken Bell's where he has replaced the wishbones but the clunk is still there. Its coming from the front offside, and Ken can't find the cause - he has checked everything he can think of and is now somewhat baffled, and he is going to change the driveshaft next. Anyone here had the same experience - its a really obvious clunk when you accelerate and then slow down, or slow down then accelerate.... when I first heard it it sounded like a loose wheel. Its not a wheel bearing....

It's fixed - turned out to be one of the CVs was dry.....
Repacking them has solved the problem but it took a bit of finding:).

And not too pricy eitehr - full marks to Ken Bell and Alfanatics in Fleet for great value service
