Cheers Alfa_Holic,

I've seen a few going through fairly cheap recently, thats why I've decided not to spend another £1,000 on fixing mine....weirdly I just received an offer within 15 minutes of posting for £1050.
Damn it, part of me hoped it wasn't going to go...

I wager with the alloys being at least 300-500 quid leather at 200-300 quid let alone the rest. someone got a bargain. And a headgasketvif you know what your doing is 300-500 quid?? 1k is a bargain.
It's a conundrum for sure tigertown ;)

Headgasket if you/your mate knows what you're doing will be cheap and fairly easy. Unfortunately not having the tools, skill nor mates I'd be left taking it to a garage where I've been quoted £1000-2000.

Glasses Guide is quoting £500 - 700 trade in value.

It gets to a point where some GTV's are uneconomically viable for non-mechanics; figured I could bag a grand and spend what I would have spent fixing the head gasket on another GTV. Thou still considering just keeping it as spares for my next GTV!

Higher offers welcomed...

Oh totally, i'm the same, i hate spanners and i hate proper work so fixing cars is well off my agenda. And breaking cars is not as easy as i can sound either. But i mean from new buyers perspective if they have the time and inclanation, this is a good buy even at 1.5k maybe even 2k for the bits alone. Sadly if running ones can be had for couple of bags of sand, then non runners have to be priced accordingly.

bloomin lovely looking car though, my fave colour and interior combo.

I think if I had the work done maybe could get 3k if I was prepared to wait for a buyer. Pistonheads is full on £3k+ cars, with a fair few recently sold, hard to judge really!!
The prospective buyer is an Alfa specialist dealer in london, planning on making it special once again, then selling. Glad its not getting broken for parts, would be such a waste!

IS that Meteor Grey? Don;t see them in that colour often :)
ahhh don't tell me its rare!! If I ever get another GTV I'll want the same colour, grey/tan leather. Just ran out to check the paint code, but the stickers faded...I think its
Eclipse Grey

the meteor grey looks a little lighter?

Nice colour but the buyer is brave at £1150 if he thinks there is alot of profit in it. As a keeper it might make more sense.
I'm sure he knows what he's doing, he's an independent london alfa dealer, I guess he'll have it all shipshape for a grand (including tyres and Q2) then sure it'd easily get snapped up by a city boy for £4k
