Good morning all, I am pleased to announce that I am now the proud owner of a 2004 147 2.0L Selespeed. Milage; 57,000m.

Actually, I bought it for my girlfriend, but hey – I’ll get some pleasure from it nonetheless.

So a little story as to how I came about acquiring this black beauty!

The last car I bought my girlfriend was a 306 TDi… Tidy little car with a little bit of poke (but not too much as it was a step-up in performance from her previous car; an old Micra).

Within 2 weeks of ownership of the Pug, she scraped and dented the whole left-side of the car whist turning into a high-walled driveway!

Well, none too impressed, I told her that it is her car and she had to handle the embarrassment of driving the thing around in a sorry-looking state – so, tough!

Anyway… that was some time ago now and whilst the little 306 is still running beautifully, it is time to get rid (she nags about wanting something a little more ‘special’ to run around in).

So, on Saturday I set out to find a suitable replacement with a budget of around £2-3k, with a mind to purchase an Audi A3 or similar that she could feel happier in.

Whilst kicking wheels in various dealerships (having already trawled the internet the night before) I came across a gleaming black beauty… A 147 in her prime, polished, sexy and alluring!
Immediately I was taken by her and the excitement levels grew inside me at the prospect of her face when she saw it.
The interior; sumptuous and inviting… Pangs of jealousy beating in my chest at the thought of buying this car for SOMEONE ELSE!!

All thoughts of ‘but it’s an Alpha’ and ‘it is just going to break down all the time’ were wrestled aside by desire and lust!

I took her for a brief spin and put her through her paces; LOVED every millisecond of it.

Needless to say, I bit the dealer’s arm off.

I collect the car tonight after work as I didn’t have the cash on me at the time and just left a reasonable deposit down so-as to secure the purchase.

I can feel a pleasant weekend on its way!
