Well, after spending three days trying to beat my renewal quote from AF I feel a short thread, hopefully helping others, is in order.

Me, I'm 23, 2 years NCB, homeowner etc.

AF first wanted £1350 to renew TPFT on the Gtv.

Considering the cars only worth £5000 these days:cry: thats a lot of money.

Anyway, began trawling the net etc.

What I was pretty shocked about, both confused.com and moneysupermarket, list the quotes, but when you actually go to the site and fill it all in 'fully', the quotes go up. Anyway, some were still below, at around £1130 and AF matched.

I kept looking, begun phoning, and getting phoned, got it down to £1010. Then a company called, 'Call connect' began calling me and constantly putting me through to different companies, initially very annoying until the quote of 900 came through.

AF matched, I'm a happy man. :p

A good three hours of phone calls/internet searching saved me £400 odd pounds.

Do you have a 3 litre V6?
No, I have a 2.0 Spider and now a new 2.4 Spider, which as far as im aware are only 1 insurance group lower than the V6 GTV.:p

The 2.4 spider is group 18?? Hmm.

Well, Chris Knott wont touch a 23 year old with a 3 litre V6. (Group 19).

£900 is a pretty good price then.
At 23 with only 2 years no claims.
Mine cost me £850 with full no claims and i was 25 - so sounds pretty good to me.
